Q: Blue Jean Blues was in place as a fine-established entertainment bar. How did buying it come about for you?
A: Diane and I have been in this business for 25 years and we always wanted to have our place but we knew there had to be people we trust to help control the back end of the house functions. After we came to Florida in 2000, we discussed purchasing a business with our parents. They retired from their business and moved to Florida in 2006 and started an eight-year search for us that finally ended up with Blue Jean Blues.
Q: How do you choose the current artists that perform and how does one get to perform?
A: They obviously must be professional and lean towards jazz & blues music. Fortunately for us, South Florida has many bands and performers to choose from. We also have bands perform twice a day, seven days a week for the last several years. The current performing bands provide us with qualified leads.
Q: What changes have you brought about?
A: As owners, we feel Blue Jean Blues has changed us to appreciate our customers and listen to what concerns they have that may result in change.
Q: What are your favorite moments at Blue Jean Blues?
A: When you love your job like we have, many moments come to mind since beginning in February 2014. Meeting and working with qualified staff members has created very good memories for us.
Q: Do you have any special plans or changes for Blue Jean Blues in the near future.
A: Continuing renovations and providing our customers with the best live music, food, and service.
Q: The kitchen performance is notable and praiseworthy too. Do you have any words to share about what you feel makes it popular among the locals?
A: We are bartenders and must give credit to Bob—our kitchen manager and his staff. We met Bob over 17 years ago and hope he will be with us for another 60. Bob’s Kitchen produces the best pizza in the USA!
